2004 has ended on a spectacularly high note for me, when I was fortunate enough to spend the day with Virginia McKenna and Trisha Loveland from the Born Free Foundation.
The main purpose of the visit was the handover of my painting “Girl”, a lioness that holds a very special place in Virginia’s heart. Other highlights included a lengthy conversation about my forthcoming trip to Africa in February, and painting and drawing techniques that will help me to capture the wonderful sights of the Masai Mara. We all have the highest regard for the lions of Africa and are dedicated to doing all we can to help wildlife across the globe.
The perfect end to a wonderful day came when Virginia announced that she would fully support the release of limited edition giclee prints of the painting “Girl”.
The prints will feature:-
Virginia’s own personal story and
signiture on the certificate that accompanies each
print and a photograph of Virginia and Girl on the set of
the 1964 film Born Free.
50% of the sale price of each print
will be donated to the Born Free Foundation, in order to help
support them in the constant battle to help wildlife all over the
World.
